AGH Athletic Intelligence

The AGH Athletic Intelligence research group is a community of people interested in implementing the latest technologies in sports. Our goal is to leverage the capabilities of the latest AI/ML models and computer vision to improve sports analytics, create tools that support the work of coaches and athletes, and discover new ways of understanding sports through the lens of data. We operate at the intersection of two worlds – advanced technology and a passion for sports. We implement projects involving automatic video analysis, player movement tracking, recommendation systems, and outcome prediction. We believe that data and algorithms can become a true advantage for both amateur and professional teams. We learn how to acquire, clean, and explore sports data, from match statistics and biometric data to signals from sensors and wearable devices. We build predictive models, visualizations, and dashboards that transform raw numbers into concrete knowledge and recommendations. For us, working with data is not just a tool – it's a way of thinking about sports. The club is open to everyone, regardless of your sport or technical skill level. We are united by curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and a belief that technology can change sports for the better.
